Francesca Tilio (Jesi, 1975) è un’artista e fotografa italiana.
La sua ricerca indaga il femminile, l’adolescenza, l’essere umano nella relazione con il paesaggio e il colore,
intrecciando fotografia, scrittura e pratiche partecipative. Un’indagine autoriale e relazionale che nel tempo costruisce archivi visivi e narrativi.
Integra direzione artistica e regia attraverso la messa in scena, dove immagine, corpo e spazio diventano dispositivi narrativi.
Espone in Italia e all’estero, tra cui la Viewfinder Photo Gallery di Londra con Les Bonnes, serie ispirata all’opera di Jean Genet. Vince il premio Camera d’Oro al Lens Based Art Show di Torino con ME² e riceve riconoscimenti in contesti nazionali come il Gran Premio Portfolio Italia, Italy Photo Award alla Biennale della Fotografia Femminile.
Nel 2013 avvia Pink Project, il progetto più personale, diffuso e partecipato, dedicato al tema del tumore al seno. Sostiene la Campagna Nastro Rosa della LILT e viaggia in tutta Italia.
L’immagine dell’abbraccio è diventata nel tempo un simbolo condiviso di sorellanza e pace.
Una parte centrale della sua ricerca è dedicata al progetto a lungo termine Teenagers of the 21st Century, sviluppato attraverso residenze, workshop, mostre e pubblicazioni in Italia e all’estero. Il lavoro costruisce un archivio contemporaneo dell’adolescenza attraverso ritratti e materiali autobiografici, restituendo uno sguardo diretto sulle trasformazioni culturali del presente.
Pubblicata su testate italiane e internazionali, il suo lavoro si estende anche alla formazione. È direttrice artistica di Passeggeri, laboratorio dedicato alla narrazione del contemporaneo in collaborazione con The Passenger (Iperborea), ed è parte dell’associazione KAR movimenti creativi ETS.
Francesca Tilio (Jesi, 1975) is an Italian artist and photographer.
Her research explores the feminine, adolescence, and the human condition in relation to landscape and color, weaving together photography, writing, and participatory practices. Both an authorial and relational inquiry, her work has evolved over time into the creation of visual and narrative archives.
She integrates art direction and filmmaking through staged compositions, where image, body, and space become narrative devices.
Her work has been exhibited in Italy and internationally, including at the Viewfinder Photo Gallery in London with Les Bonnes, a series inspired by the play by Jean Genet. She received the Camera d’Oro award at the Lens Based Art Show in Turin with ME², and has been recognized in national contexts such as the Gran Premio Portfolio Italia, the Italy Photo Award, and the Biennale della Fotografia Femminile, Mantova.
In 2013 she launched Pink Project, her most personal, widespread, and participatory work, focused on breast cancer awareness. The project supports the LILT Pink Ribbon Campaign and has traveled throughout Italy. The image of the embrace, born within this project, has become over time a shared symbol of sisterhood and peace.
A central part of her practice is the long-term project Teenagers of the 21st Century, developed through residencies, workshops, exhibitions, and publications in Italy and abroad. The work builds a contemporary archive of adolescence through portraits and autobiographical materials, offering a direct insight into current cultural transformations.
Her work is published in Italian and international magazines and extends into education. She is the artistic director of Passeggeri, a program dedicated to contemporary storytelling developed in collaboration with The Passenger (Iperborea), and is a member of KAR movimenti creativi ETS.
FFStudio
FFStudio nasce all’interno di un ex complesso industriale dove, nei primi decenni del ’900, si producevano macchine per la trebbiatura del grano. In questo contesto dal fascino inatteso - tra falegnami, rigattieri e depositi di tè pregiati, in un cortile che confina con le rotaie della ferrovia - si configura oggi come un luogo simbolico della cultura del territorio.
Pensato come spazio di pensiero, lavoro e confronto, si apre a chi desidera dialogare attraverso i linguaggi dell’arte. Qui prendono forma piccoli eventi, incontri e momenti condivisi che hanno al centro la creatività, attivando relazioni tra artisti, pubblico e comunità.
FFStudio is housed within a former industrial complex where, in the early decades of the 20th century, wheat threshing machines were manufactured. In this setting of unexpected charm - amongst carpenters, second-hand dealers and warehouses stocked with fine teas, in a courtyard bordering the railway tracks - it now stands as a symbolic hub of local culture.
Conceived as a space for thought, work and exchange, it welcomes anyone wishing to engage in dialogue through the languages of art. Here, small events, gatherings and shared moments take shape, centred on creativity, fostering connections between artists, the public and the community.
