Teenagers of the 21st Century nasce dall’incontro con l’opera di August Sander e il suo tentativo radicale di costruire un ritratto collettivo della società attraverso i volti e le vite delle persone. Da quell’idea di archivio umano prende forma la mia ricerca.
Dal 2020 rivolgo lo sguardo agli adolescenti – una generazione spesso poco ascoltata – nel tentativo di restituirne complessità, fragilità e contraddizioni. Il ritratto diventa uno spazio di relazione, un momento condiviso in cui potersi incontrare davvero. Pensieri anonimi e tracce musicali contribuiscono a rendere vivo il progetto. Ogni immagine nasce da un incontro, spontaneo o costruito, durante residenze, laboratori e progetti in diversi contesti geografici.
Teenagers of the 21st Century
Teenagers of the 21st Century originates from an encounter with the work of August Sander and his radical attempt to construct a collective portrait of society through the faces and lives of people. From this idea of a human archive, my research takes shape.
Since 2020, I have turned my gaze toward adolescents – a generation often unheard – in an effort to convey their complexity, fragility, and contradictions. The portrait becomes a space of connection, a shared moment where a real encounter can take place. Anonymous thoughts and musical traces contribute to bringing the project to life. Each image emerges from an encounter, whether spontaneous or constructed, during residencies, workshops, and projects across different geographical contexts.
